NORTEK receives order for two roll coolant systems and a quenching machine bound for Nanshan Aluminum

NORTEK has received an order from Danieli to design and supply a major cooling solution for aluminum rolling, destined for a Nanshan Aluminum facility in China. Danieli is one of the world’s major providers of equipment and plants to the primary metals industry, and has been a longstanding customer of ours, particularly in the field of roll coolant systems.

On one side, our company will be responsible for the design and manufacturing of a roll coolant system for a 4HiMi hot rolling mill. In this case, the cooling fluid will be an emulsion of synthetic oil in demineralized water. Our system will be also aimed at controlling the work rolls profile, as well as aluminum production tolerances. Optimal design of the roll coolant system is therefore instrumental in achieving the desired quality standard in the rolling line.

In parallel, NORTEK will provide a quenching machine, which will supply filtered and cooled demineralized water at specific conditions to a quenching system for the cooling and tempering of aluminum plates. NORTEK will also provide complete engineering of all six lagged tanks necessary for proper operation of both systems, including clean- and dirty-side emulsion tanks, and demineralized water tanks.

This order completes a comprehensive supply for Nanshan Aluminum which has also included a smaller roll coolant solution, based on additivated kerosene, for an EDT rolling mill. This system was delivered in November 2018. Altogether, the project represents the most complex engineering challenge managed by our company in the last three years.
